SurfoVerse collects and uses personal information for clear purposes, provides meaningful privacy choices, applies heightened protections for teenagers, and limits SurfoDate to adults aged 18 or older.
1. About this Privacy Policy
This Global Privacy Policy explains how SurfoVerse LLC ("SurfoVerse," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains and protects personal information when people use SurfoVerse websites, mobile applications, services, products and features (collectively, the "Services"). SurfoVerse LLC is the controller or business responsible for the personal information described in this Policy unless a supplemental notice states otherwise.
This Policy applies across the SurfoVerse ecosystem, including SurfoConnect, SurfoMeet, SurfoFlights, SurfoHotels, SurfoJob, SurfoAds, SurfoMusic, SurfoSports, SurfoDate, SurfoMaps, SurfoMarket, SurfoAI and related account, messaging, calling, community, creator, business, support and administrative features. A module-specific notice may provide additional information. If a module-specific notice conflicts with this Policy, the more specific notice applies to that module.
This Policy does not govern independent websites, applications or services operated by third parties, even when accessible through SurfoVerse. Their own privacy notices govern their processing.
2. Who May Use SurfoVerse
You must be at least 13 years old to create a general SurfoVerse account. SurfoDate is strictly limited to adults who are at least 18 years old, or older if the law where they live requires a higher minimum age. Additional products, transactions or content may have higher age limits.
We use age information and age-assurance measures to apply age-appropriate experiences. We do not knowingly permit children under 13 to maintain accounts. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to restrict and delete the account and associated information, subject to safety, legal and record-retention requirements.
For users aged 13 through 17, SurfoVerse applies heightened privacy and safety protections. These protections include restrictions on adult-only features, targeted advertising, sensitive profiling, discoverability and precise location use, as described in Section 15.
3. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on the Services you use, the permissions you grant, the content you provide, your age and location, and how you interact with SurfoVerse.
3.1 Account and profile information
- Name, username, password or authentication credentials, date of birth or age range, email address, telephone number and account settings.
- Profile photo, biography, pronouns, languages, interests, education, work history, skills, links, verification status and other profile fields you choose to provide.
- Information used to verify identity, age, business status, creator status or account authenticity. Depending on the verification method, this may include an identity document, selfie, verification result or confirmation from a verification provider.
3.2 Content, communications and social activity
- Posts, comments, reactions, short videos, livestreams, stories, music, images, files, voice recordings, captions, hashtags, events, group activity, marketplace listings, job materials and other content you create or upload.
- Messages, call information, meeting content, delivery status, participants, timestamps and related metadata. We process content and metadata as needed to deliver communications, maintain security, investigate reports and comply with law. Encryption protections vary by feature; do not assume a communication is end-to-end encrypted unless the feature expressly states that it is.
- People, accounts, groups, communities, creators, businesses and topics you follow, connect with, block, mute, report or otherwise interact with.
- Contacts you choose to upload or sync, together with information needed to help identify connections. Contact syncing is optional where offered. You can stop future syncing through available settings or device permissions and may request deletion of previously uploaded contacts.
3.3 Location, travel and mobility information
- Approximate location derived from IP address and general device signals.
- Precise device location when you grant permission for maps, nearby experiences, travel, safety, check-ins, local content or other location-based features.
- Searches, itineraries, booking requests, travel preferences, origin and destination, loyalty details you choose to provide and transaction information for SurfoFlights or SurfoHotels.
- Location information contained in content or metadata you upload. You should avoid publishing a home, school or other sensitive location.
3.4 Commerce, payment and marketplace information
- Purchases, subscriptions, seller information, product listings, orders, shipping and billing details, refunds, disputes, payouts, tax information and fraud-prevention signals.
- Payment card or bank information is generally collected and processed by an authorized payment provider. SurfoVerse may receive limited payment information such as the payment method type, billing address, transaction identifier and payment status.
- Communications and evidence related to SurfoMarket transactions, claims, chargebacks, safety concerns and enforcement.
3.5 Job, professional and organizational information
- Resumes, applications, employment history, education, credentials, portfolio materials, salary preferences, work authorization responses and job-search activity.
- Employer, recruiter, organization and business account information, including authorized users, roles, billing, verification and administrative records.
- SurfoJob may recommend opportunities or candidates, but SurfoVerse does not make the employer's final hiring decision.
3.6 Dating and other sensitive information
If you are at least 18 and use SurfoDate, you may choose to provide dating preferences, relationship goals, gender identity, sexual orientation, precise or approximate location, photos, profile answers and interactions. Some of this information may be considered sensitive or special-category data. We process optional sensitive dating information only when permitted by applicable law, including through explicit consent where required. You may withdraw consent, but doing so may prevent the affected feature from operating.
SurfoDate profiles and activity are restricted to adults. We do not use a minor's information to recommend, expose or connect that minor to SurfoDate users.
3.7 Music, sports, advertising and creator information
- Music uploads, rights and ownership information, artist or label details, listening history, playlists, likes, follows and royalty or payout information.
- Sports interests, teams, leagues, viewing and engagement activity, predictions or contest entries where available.
- Advertising campaign content, audience criteria, budgets, billing, performance, conversion information and business verification.
- Creator tools, audience analytics, monetization, sponsorship and payout information.
3.8 SurfoAI information
- Prompts, instructions, files, images, voice input, context you choose to provide and AI-generated responses.
- Feedback, safety classifications, usage records and technical information used to provide, secure, evaluate and improve AI features.
- Information from your SurfoVerse activity that you authorize SurfoAI to use for personalization or task completion. We do not use sensitive or private information for unrelated model training without clear notice and a valid legal basis or permission where required.
AI output may be inaccurate and should not be treated as professional medical, legal, financial or other high-stakes advice. Additional SurfoAI terms and notices apply.
3.9 Device, usage and technical information
- Device type, operating system, app version, browser, language, IP address, advertising identifiers, mobile carrier, network information and device settings.
- Pages, feeds and features viewed; searches; clicks; watch and listening time; scrolling; referrals; interactions; crash reports; performance logs and diagnostic information.
- Cookie, pixel, SDK, local-storage and similar technology data, subject to the consent and opt-out choices required where you live.
3.10 Safety, support and legal information
- Reports, appeals, support requests, moderation decisions and communications with our safety, privacy, legal and support teams.
- Information concerning suspected fraud, spam, abuse, exploitation, intellectual-property infringement, illegal activity, account compromise or violations of our policies.
- Information received from law enforcement, courts, regulators, rights holders and other authorized third parties.
3.11 Information from other sources
We may receive information from users who mention, tag, invite, report or transact with you; connected services you authorize; identity, age, payment, fraud, analytics, advertising, travel and content partners; publicly available sources; and corporate customers or organizations that administer accounts. We combine information only when permitted and for the purposes described in this Policy.
4. How We Use Information
- Provide, personalize and operate the Services, including feeds, recommendations, search, messaging, calls, maps, travel, marketplace, music, sports, jobs, dating and AI features.
- Create and manage accounts, verify identity or age, authenticate access and remember settings.
- Deliver content, messages, notifications, transactions, subscriptions, bookings, purchases, payouts and customer support.
- Recommend content, people, communities, events, opportunities, listings and other relevant experiences.
- Measure, troubleshoot, research, develop and improve the Services, subject to appropriate safeguards.
- Protect users and the public; prevent fraud, spam, abuse, exploitation, dangerous conduct and security incidents; enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines.
- Comply with law, respond to valid legal requests, preserve evidence and defend legal rights.
- Communicate about the Services, security, policy changes, transactions, support and, where permitted, marketing.
- Provide advertising and measure campaign performance, while honoring consent, opt-out and minor-protection requirements.
We do not use personal information for a materially different purpose without providing additional notice or obtaining permission when required.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Contract: processing necessary to create your account and provide Services you request.
- Legitimate interests: operating, securing, improving and understanding the Services; preventing fraud and abuse; and supporting users and businesses, where those interests are not overridden by your rights, particularly when the user is a child.
- Consent: optional precise location, contact syncing, certain cookies, direct marketing, sensitive dating information, selected AI personalization and other processing for which consent is required. Consent can be withdrawn prospectively.
- Legal obligation: tax, accounting, regulatory, child-safety, consumer-protection, sanctions, recordkeeping and lawful-request obligations.
- Vital interests and public interest: protecting life, safety and fundamental rights or assisting appropriate authorities when legally justified.
When we rely on legitimate interests, we assess the purpose, necessity and impact of the processing. We give special weight to the best interests and vulnerabilities of users under 18.
6. Recommendations, Profiling and Automated Systems
SurfoVerse may use automated systems to rank and recommend content, accounts, communities, music, events, jobs, travel options, marketplace listings, advertising and other experiences. Signals may include your selections, interactions, followed accounts, searches, location at an appropriate level, content attributes, language, device context, safety information and patterns from similar users.
We may also use automated tools to identify spam, fraud, unsafe content, account compromise and policy violations. Where appropriate or legally required, we provide notice and an appeal path for material enforcement decisions. We do not intend recommendation systems alone to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about users. If a feature does so, we will provide any required explanation, human-review option and additional notice.
Available controls for influencing recommendations may include following or unfollowing, muting, blocking, hiding content, reporting, clearing relevant history and choosing a non-profiled feed where required by law.
7. How Information Is Disclosed
We disclose personal information only as described below, as directed by you, or with additional notice and permission when required.
7.1 Other users and the public
Your profile, posts, comments, listings, creator content and other activity may be visible to other users or the public depending on the feature and your settings. Public information may be viewed, copied, reshared or indexed outside SurfoVerse. Private messages and restricted content are not intended to be public, although recipients may save or share them.
7.2 Service providers
We use vendors that provide hosting, storage, content delivery, security, moderation, identity and age assurance, payments, communications, analytics, customer support, travel fulfillment, AI processing and other business services. They may process information under contract for authorized purposes and subject to appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
7.3 Partners and third-party services
When you request a booking, transaction, integration, login, content stream or other partner-supported service, we share the information necessary to complete your request with the relevant airline, hotel, payment provider, seller, employer, music provider, mapping provider or other partner. Those parties may independently control information they receive and must provide their own privacy notice.
7.4 Advertising and measurement partners
Subject to your choices and applicable law, we may allow advertising and measurement partners to receive identifiers, device and interaction information to deliver, limit and measure advertising. We do not provide private messages to advertisers for their independent advertising use. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of users under 18 for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not behaviorally target minors based on profiling.
7.5 Legal, safety and corporate disclosures
- We may preserve, access or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or a valid legal process; protect life, safety, rights and property; investigate fraud or abuse; enforce our rules; or respond to emergencies.
- We review government and law-enforcement requests for legal sufficiency and may notify affected users unless prohibited or doing so would create a risk of harm.
- Information may be disclosed in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy or sale of assets, subject to legally required protections and notice.
8. Advertising, Cookies and Tracking Choices
SurfoVerse may use cookies, pixels, SDKs and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, performance and advertising. Where required, non-essential technologies will not be activated until you provide consent. You may withdraw consent through available privacy settings or a cookie-management tool.
SurfoVerse does not sell personal information for money in the ordinary sense. However, some U.S. privacy laws define "sale," "sharing" or "targeted advertising" broadly enough to cover certain advertising or analytics disclosures. Where those laws apply, SurfoVerse will provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" or equivalent control, honor recognized opt-out preference signals when required, and avoid discriminating against people for exercising privacy rights.
We do not provide personalized advertising to known users under 18 based on profiling. Advertising shown to minors is intended to be contextual and age-appropriate. We do not use dating information, precise location, private communications or protected characteristics to target ads in ways prohibited by law or SurfoVerse policy.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Services, maintaining security, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements and satisfying legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations. Retention depends on the type of information, sensitivity, user expectations, legal requirements, operational need and risk of harm.
When information is no longer required, we delete, de-identify or securely isolate it. Deletion may take time to propagate through backups. We may retain limited records after account deletion when necessary for fraud prevention, safety, legal claims, financial compliance, content-rights management or enforcement. Specific periods vary according to the information, Service, account status and applicable legal or operational requirements.
10. International Data Transfers
SurfoVerse is based in the United States and may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from those where you live.
When required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, contractual clauses approved by regulators, transfer assessments and supplementary technical or organizational measures. You may contact privacy@surfoverse.com for information about safeguards relevant to your data.
11. Security
We use administrative, technical and physical measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls, monitoring, secure development practices, encryption where appropriate, incident response and vendor oversight. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss or misuse will never occur.
Users are responsible for protecting credentials, using strong authentication where available and promptly reporting suspected compromise. Security incidents will be investigated and reported to users and regulators when required by law.
12. Your Choices and Controls
- Profile and audience controls for content and discoverability.
- Notification, marketing and communication preferences.
- Location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos and device permissions.
- Personalization, advertising, cookies and tracking controls where available or required.
- Blocking, muting, reporting, hiding and recommendation-feedback tools.
- Downloading information and deleting or deactivating an account.
Changing a device permission does not necessarily delete information already collected. You may need to use SurfoVerse privacy settings or submit a request to delete prior information.
13. Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, know, confirm, correct, delete, restrict, object to or obtain a portable copy of personal information; withdraw consent; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising or certain profiling; limit use of sensitive information; and appeal a denied request. You may also complain to a privacy or data-protection authority.
Submit privacy requests through in-product privacy controls when available or email privacy@surfoverse.com. We may verify your identity and authority before responding. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a right.
Some rights are subject to exceptions. For example, we may retain information needed for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, financial records, free expression, public interest or legal claims. We will explain a denial and available appeal rights when required.
14. Regional Disclosures
14.1 EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland
SurfoVerse LLC is the controller for the processing described in this Policy unless stated otherwise. Users may exercise the rights described in Section 13 and may object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing. Users may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. Where consent is the legal basis, withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Questions concerning SurfoVerse's processing in the EEA, United Kingdom or Switzerland may be directed to privacy@surfoverse.com. We will publish additional regional representative or Data Protection Officer contact information when applicable.
14.2 United States
Residents of states with applicable comprehensive privacy laws may have rights described in Section 13. SurfoVerse will provide any required category-level disclosures concerning information collected, sources, purposes, recipients, retention and sensitive information. Users may use required opt-out controls for sale, sharing, targeted advertising and certain profiling. SurfoVerse will process recognized universal opt-out signals where legally required.
Depending on the Services used, the categories of personal information collected or processed may include identifiers; customer-record information; legally protected characteristics you choose to provide; commercial information; internet or electronic-network activity; approximate or precise geolocation; audio, visual and electronic content; professional or employment information; inferences; and sensitive personal information. Sources may include you, your devices, other users, organizations, service providers, partners and public sources. We use these categories for the purposes in Section 4 and may disclose them to the recipients described in Section 7. We do not sell personal information for money. Certain advertising or analytics disclosures may be treated as sale, sharing or targeted advertising under state law and are subject to applicable opt-out rights.
14.3 Canada
SurfoVerse seeks meaningful consent for collection, use and disclosure where Canadian law requires it and limits processing to purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate. Canadian users may request access and correction, withdraw consent subject to legal or contractual restrictions, and contact privacy@surfoverse.com with questions or complaints. Information may be processed outside Canada and may be accessible to foreign courts, law enforcement or authorities under local law.
14.4 Other countries and regions
Users in other jurisdictions may have additional rights under local law. SurfoVerse will honor applicable rights and provide supplemental notices where needed. This global Policy does not limit non-waivable rights available under local law.
15. Children and Teenagers
The best interests, safety and privacy of users under 18 are primary considerations. We use age information and proportionate age-assurance measures to apply appropriate protections without collecting more information than reasonably necessary.
- No accounts for children under 13 and no access to SurfoDate for anyone under 18.
- High-privacy defaults and age-appropriate explanations for users aged 13 through 17.
- No personalized advertising to known minors and no sale or sharing of their personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Precise location disabled by default for minors and used only when necessary, appropriately disclosed and permitted.
- Limits on adult-to-minor discovery and communication, particularly where risk signals are present.
- Age-appropriate content controls, reporting, blocking, moderation, safety reminders and escalation processes.
- No use of sensitive minor information for unrelated profiling or design choices intended to pressure minors to disclose more information or remain online.
Different countries set different rules for a young person's consent. Where parental or guardian authorization is required for a particular processing activity, SurfoVerse will obtain and reasonably verify it or will not make that activity available. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided information improperly may contact safety@surfoverse.com or privacy@surfoverse.com.
16. SurfoDate Privacy
SurfoDate is a separate, adult-only experience. We use dating profile details and interactions to provide matching, communication, safety and fraud-prevention features. Because dating data can reveal highly sensitive information, we restrict access, apply feature-specific permissions and retain it according to the purposes and criteria described in this Policy. We do not use sensitive dating information for advertising unless that use is clearly disclosed, lawful and separately authorized where required.
SurfoDate is not intended to display another person's precise real-time location. Location used for matching may be generalized or otherwise limited. Safety reports may be reviewed by authorized personnel and disclosed to appropriate authorities when necessary to protect people or comply with law.
17. SurfoAI Privacy
SurfoAI processes the information submitted to it and authorized context needed to generate responses or take requested actions. Authorized AI providers may process prompts, files or outputs to provide and secure the feature, as described in this Policy and applicable notices. We do not use private communications, minor data or sensitive information for unrelated model training without a distinct legal basis, appropriate safeguards and additional notice or permission where required.
Users may manage relevant AI history and personalization through controls made available for the feature. Human review may occur for safety, abuse investigation, quality assurance or support, subject to access restrictions and appropriate notice.
18. Account Deactivation and Deletion
Users may deactivate or request deletion of their account through account settings when available or by contacting privacy@surfoverse.com. Deactivation generally hides or restricts the account without immediately deleting all information. Deletion removes or de-identifies information subject to the retention exceptions described in Section 9.
Content shared with other users, such as messages received by others or content reshared outside SurfoVerse, may remain in their possession. We will explain material deletion consequences before completing the request.
19. Third-Party Links and Integrations
The Services may link to or integrate with services not controlled by SurfoVerse. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their notices before providing information. Connecting an external account authorizes the exchange described at the time of connection; you may disconnect it, but the third party may retain information previously received under its own policies.
20. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, risk, vendors or Services. We will update the effective or last-updated date and provide additional notice when changes are material or consent is required. Earlier versions may remain accessible where legally required or operationally appropriate.
